Sidequest is not responding
Close and reopen Sidequest, restart the iPhone, and check for app or iOS updates. Avoid deleting the app as a first step because progress is stored locally and may be lost.
First launch and tutorial
The illustrated introduction appears once and can be skipped. Visitors using Reduce Motion receive a still version. The current app does not include an intro replay control, so deleting the app only to replay it is not recommended.
A quest timer was interrupted
A running timer corrects itself when you return after ordinary backgrounding. If Sidequest is force-quit or the iPhone restarts during a quest, the active timer cannot be recovered. Completed quest history remains stored locally.
Add Pocket Sidekick
Touch and hold the Home Screen until the apps jiggle, then tap the Add (+) button. On iOS versions that show an Edit menu, choose Edit → Add Widget instead. Search for Sidequest and choose the small or medium Pocket Sidekick. The medium widget includes a dice button for another tiny quest.
The widget looks different from the game
Pocket Sidekick keeps its own local tiny quest and mood; it does not mirror Sidequest progress. Open the iPhone app once and finish its introduction, companion selection, and tutorial before relying on the widget’s link back into the game.
Progress is missing
Sidequest has no account, server, or cloud synchronization. Progress is stored on the iPhone and may return only if Apple’s device backup preserved it. If progress matters, contact support before deleting or reinstalling the app.
Sound is missing
Raise the iPhone volume, check Silent Mode, and confirm audio is not playing through connected headphones or speakers. Sidequest’s bundled music and effects follow the iPhone’s ambient-audio behavior; the current app has no separate sound switch.
